Summary[]
An alien girl named Kima and a human girl named Lil, who go to school on Earth, have in common that their parents work at the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards on Mars. Without any apparent reason, the two begin to vent their anger on each other. After some mutual teasing the two girls get into a fight. A bit later, alarming news arrives from Mars. The planet has suffered a devastating attack that no one seems to have survived. The two girls unite in their sorrow.

- The ship we see docked during the Utopia-Planitia-scene seems to be the same we see in "The Trouble with Edward". While it is possible that ship-classes are in service for many decades (see Excelsior or Miranda) it is quite a stretch that we never saw it in the 24th century before now... Perhaps the design was withdrawn for reworking.
- Mars is under attack and there seems to be no defense. Not even "the only ship in range"... The Federation may have considered the possibility of an attack on Mars to be virtually non exsistant!.
- What's the job of Lil's dad that he won't be able to see her for the rest of the year in person. It was my understanding that he worked on Mars. This is the kind of easy-avoidable nonsense that is meant to create drama. Maybe he is heavily involved in construction of the fleet for the Romulan evacuation, and can't be spared for the time it would take to visit Lil on Earth.
