Summary[]
While Tom's "Capt. Proton" program is running, photonic beings from subspace enter the holodeck, mistaking the simulation for the real world. The crew have to convince the aliens of their peaceful nature and support them in their struggle against the evil Dr. Chaotica, who fights them with holoweapons, deadly to photonic beings. Janeway aka Queen Arachnia and Tom aka Proton finally manage to defeat Chaotica and save the aliens. Then, the distortions close, and Voyager is realigned with normal space. Another chapter of "The Adventures of Captain Proton" comes to an end ... or does it?

- Despite been hit and showing to be on fire and producing heavy smoke, Chaotica's Fortress of Doom shows as intact when Harry checks it from outside the holodeck. It must be designed to repair itself.

- Corey Hines on Wednesday, January 27, 1999 - 7:34 pm: When Tuvok and Paris enter the holodeck, why aren't they in colour. In a crisis, I doubt they would try to make themselves blend in. This could be an automatic setting.
- The Holo-Doc seems amazed at the prospect of photonic beings. Weren't there photonic beings in "Heroes and Demons". Guess the writers ran out of ideas. More likely the exsistance of photonic beings was considered mythical until the events of Heroes and Demons, due to the non detection of any such beings before that.
